Yes, But How?: Peaceful
When we are surrounded by a world filled with division and conflict, knowing how to publicly express our faith can feel like a challenge. We know we are called to be Christ’s hands and feet, but the question remains: Yes, but how do we stay grounded in the face of so much negativity?
Pastor Don continues our series by exploring a vital anchor for our daily lives: Peaceful.
Being peaceful isn’t just the absence of noise; it is a deep, spiritual stability that ripples outward into our community. When we choose words and actions rooted in peace, we change the temperature of the rooms we walk into.
This Week’s Action Steps:
- Anchor Your Heart and Mind: True peace starts internally. It comes from securing your heart and mind in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When you are spiritually anchored, external chaos cannot easily shake you.
- Maintain a “Low Anxious Presence”: In anxious or tense social situations, challenge yourself to be a calming force. By maintaining a low anxious presence, you choose not to absorb or reflect the panic and stress of the world around you.
- Refuse to React to Negativity: When you encounter negative people or harsh comments, you don’t have to match their energy. Being peaceful means staying calm, resisting the urge to react defensively to negative stimuli, and letting your tranquility speak for itself.
About the “Yes, But How?” Series
In a world that often feels divided, public discourse can easily slide into conflict, negativity, and noise. But what if we chose a different path? What if we intentionally shifted our daily vocabulary toward light, hope, and actionable grace?
“Yes, But How?” is a video series hosted by Pastor Don Erickson at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church. Together, we are exploring a Vocabulary of Positivity—not just as nice ideas, but as practical tools for daily living. Each week, we take one positive concept and break it down past the theory to answer the most important question: How do we actually live this out?
Whether you are looking to ground your social media interactions, transform your relationships, or find a deeper alignment with your faith, this journey offers practical, bite-sized wisdom for a modern world. Join us each week as we build a foundation of love, one word at a time.
